"If this pack of wolves are prepared to turn on one of their own and savage a good fellow bishop like Patrick O'Donoghue, just imagine what they would do to a curate."

by: Graham Moorhouse

A few days ago, Catholics received the good news that Bishop Kieran Conry was now ex-Bishop Kieran Conry.  Most genuine Catholics, certainly in the circles I move, are enormously grateful to the Mail on Sunday for ridding us of this scumbag.
“Scumbag!” I hear the pious cry, that is not Christ like language.  Oh no? – well Christ denounced a self-serving cartel within the Jewish Church of His own time as a “brood of vipers” and “sons of the Devil”.  By what strange yardstick is “sons of the Devil” deemed to be more polite than “scumbags”?  "But," the pious will object, "we are all sinners."  I agree, and I am far too venal a man to want to cast the first stone on account of his penchant for abusing his position of  authority to take advantage of vulnerable women.

He is a scumbag because he is a card carrying member of the cartel of Modernists who have had their jackboots on the throat of the English Church for forty years, men who despise Catholicism with a diabolical zeal, loathe the faith of our forefathers, saints and martyrs, yet insist on living parasitically off the body of Christ, too drunk on their own pride to notice that they have staggered into the wrong church.
When I became a Catholic over sixty years ago there were 3,000,000 souls at Mass every Sunday and they were 99% orthodox.  Furthermore this number was growing significantly year on year.  Today, there are around 900,000 and this pitiful remnant, kept afloat by immigration, is shrinking as I write.  Furthermore, two thirds are heretics who would more accurately be described as Roman Protestants.  But the Church in this country did not wither on the vine, nor was it killed off by the laity, it was destroyed by this powerful clique within the episcopacy.  Like Pontius Pilate, they wash their hand and claim that this unprecedented collapse has nothing to do with them; it is all to do with cultural and societal changes outside their control.  Oh is it! - then pray explain why those parts of the Church that have adhered to tradition (like the SSPX), or have returned to tradition, are growing and flourishing.  If the Church was a state, these men would have been hung for treason long ago.
The pious will insist that we must pray for Kieran Conry; indeed we must, we must pray that he repents his unbelief, finds faith and saves his soul.  But while you are busy praying for Conry, spare a wee prayer for the legions of innocent victims of the cartel of faithless Modernists, of which Conry is but one.  Pray for the millions of children who have been callously robbed of their faith because these scumbags have ruthlessly prohibited the teaching of the Catholic faith in their schools.  Pray also for those adults and young people, who having been cruelly robbed of the Faith by this cartel, and thus of the Church and her sacraments, are in direct consequence in grave danger of losing their souls.
And when you have finished praying for these innocent victims, pray for all the good Catholic teachers whose careers have been blighted or destroyed by the Modernism Enforcement Czars (MECs) employed by our bishops to do their dirty work.   Pray, for example, for the excellent young man whose career was destroyed  because he mentioned the name of Jesus in a class.  This was deemed by the MECs as offensive to the Muslims in the class; notwithstanding that no Muslim complained and the Koran actually mentions Jesus approvingly many more times than it mentions Mohammed.  Then pray for the young teacher disciplined by the MECs because, in answer to a direct question from a pupil, he responded that he believed children faired best with a mother and father at home.  And then spare a prayer for the excellent young teachers who was left destitute with a young wife, a baby and a mortgage to support for the high crime of saying the rosary in the school chapel during Lent.  These are just three examples plucked from the scores of letters we have on file.  If we merely pray for one scumbag who has fallen from grace, and ignore the millions of innocent victims, we are hypocrits.
The tragic fact is that we have a mere handful of good Catholic bishops in England, men like Mark Davies of Shrewsbury and Philip Egan of Portsmouth, and two or three others, the rest are members of a cartel of Modernists, and the current Godfather of this gang, Mr Fix-it himself, is Cardinal Murphy-O'Connor.  Men are elevated to sees in this country if they are members of this clique; it’s who you know rather than whether you are a good shepherd - or indeed even a Catholic - that lands you the plum jobs in the English Church, and has done so for the last forty years.
These men live in pleasant and sometimes opulent homes, have their every need catered for by an army of servants, drive around in chauffeur driven cars, bask in the accolades of the faithful and that of a clueless sycophantic Catholic press, and retire on comfortable pensions - all paid for by the widow’s mite.  Yet these faithless scumbags loath the faith of our fathers with an intensity that is clearly diabolical, and they persecute the faithful remnant and any priest brave enough to minister to its spiritual needs.
Catholics would love nothing more than to be able to admire their bishops and revere them as successors of the Apostles; instead, whenever they appear in public, we are reduced to cringing, wondering which teaching of our Church they are going to sell out on this time to appease the secular Zeitgeists.  "Pastoral" is the mealy mouth word these men favour to try and put a positive spin on their serial betrayals.
These hypocrites defend the right of the followers of every crack-pot religion under the sun to publicly practise their faith (endlessly citing Dignitatis Humanae, the controversial Vat 11 document on religious freedom - which seemingly for these men carries more weight than sacred scripture) to justify this tolerance, yet openly persecute those fellow Catholics who refuse to abandon or have returned to the orthodoxy and orthopraxis of our forefathers, saints and martyrs; as witness the recent orgy of wanton vandalism at Blackfen.  The same prelates who shamelessly persecute the faithful remnant, regularly give public scandal by handing out Communion to rampant pro-abort politicians like sweets, men collectively responsible for the deaths of more innocent people than the Nazis.
Most evil of all, this cartel of Modernists, have, with malice and intent, cruelly robbed our children and our grandchildren of their faith by ruthlessly enforcing their corrupt Modernist agenda in the schools built by our forefathers.  Only three per cent of children leaving their schools practice the faith, as against eighty per cent before this Modernist mafia hijack our English sees.  Indeed, a child has a better chance of practicing his faith on leaving school if he goes to a state school than to one of their so-called Catholic schools.  When Bishop Patrick O'Donaghue of Lancaster (now retired) sought to return his schools to teaching the faith well he was so taken back by the hostility towards him from this brood of vipers, that he exclaimed to a good friend of mine., "I never dreamt for a moment they would be so hostile." - poor, good, naive man.
Conry himself was your typical bog-standard one dimensional Modernist, forever poised, as befits the genre, between a banality and a sell-out; his entire reading seemingly consisting of that compendium of Modernist errors, the Pill (aka the Tablet).  The priests of Arundel and Brighton didn't want Kieran Conry in the first place, but he was forced upon them by Mr Fix-it, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor (a man whose vanity cannot resist boasting of his clout in Rome).  One can only imagine the behind the scenes wheeling and dealing going on to ensure that another of his chums got this plum job.
Curates in Arundel and Brighton, behind closed doors, would joke about their bishop having a nice wife,  Indeed even laymen like Rod Pead, the editor of Christian Order, knew and published this information over a decade ago?  Further, Daphne McLeod, then chairman of Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice, wrote to the Apostolic Nuncio over twelve years ago drawing his attention to this issue.  So when men like Cardinal Vincent Nicholls and Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Conner claim they didn't know, they are either utterly incompetent or lying.
There is a certain deja vu in this story.  When Rodney of the Isles was discovered to have a couple of women in tow, Cardinal Winning appeared on primetime television wringing his hands and crying crocodile tears to tell the world how shocked and let down he felt, plus the usual bromides about praying for all concerned.  It eventually transpires that Winning had known all about it for at least four years!  Rodney's housekeeper had sought a meeting with Winning four years earlier and told him what was going on and even presented him with the smoking gun, copies of love letters she had stumbled on when clearing out Rodney's trash.
Genuine Catholics loath these men because they are imposters, they are not Catholics, they despise our Faith, and clearly, blinded by their own pride, have nothing but contempt for our intellects – as witness their utterly unbelievable protestation of ignorance about the hanky-panky of their ecclesial club chum, Kieran Conry.
To add insult to injury, Conry announced he hadn't done anything illegal (by which he meant that he hadn't sexually molested any children) and added that he didn't believe he was a bad bishop.  That is a measure of how low this Modernists clan has dragged the Church: the measure now of a good bishop is someone who hasn't raped little girls or sodomised little boys!
But watch this space: there is no doubt that Conry chums in the episcopacy, once the dust has settled, will find him, if he wants, a nice little job somewhere out of the limelight, comfortably remunerated, and paid for by the widow's mite whose faith they never cease to despise and betray at every opportunity.
Thank God, at last  the laity are beginning at last to wake up to the machinations of this brood of vipers.  There are also hundreds of priests, if not thousands, who agree with me, but they will not publicly speak out for fear of reprisals at the hand of this Modernist cartel who have the power to ruin their careers and are vicious enough not to hesitate to do so.  If this pack of wolves are prepared to turn on one of their own and savage a good fellow bishop like Patrick O'Donoghue, just imagine what they would do to a curate.

The Fruitful Shall Inherit the Earth

Already (mostly young) French Catholic can put a million
boots on the street to oppose homosexual adoption
Some very exciting and encouraging forecasts have come out of a recent study of ordinations in France. The study looked not only at the number of traditional priests as against Novus Ordo priests being ordained, but at the current total numbers of each group and their average ages.

The really significant fact is that the average age of a Novus Ordo priest in France is 75! Put simply this means that the Novus Ordo church in France is standing on the edge of a very steep precipice. The study concludes that by 2038, a mere twenty-five years from now, the majority of priests in France will be traditionalists.

However, I believe we can be even more hopeful than this report suggest, because the report has only graphed the growth of the traditional orders, groups such as the SSPX, the FSSP, the Institute of the Good Shepherd etc. But there is another story, what about the young men coming out of Novus Order seminaries who are also traditional minded, and what about those Novus Order priests who are returning to tradition - the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate being just one example? Add in the further fact that traditional Catholics, unlike their Novus Ordo brothers and sisters, and secularists in general, are not busy contraception themselves out of existence, and I believe the future could be very bright indeed for the Church in France.

I suspect that I am too old to see the new dawn, but my children could well live to see France as a vibrate Catholic country once again and ready to reclaim its role as the eldest daughter of the Church. And where France goes, who knows, other countries may not be too far behind. It won't happen overnight, but I suspect we could be talking about decades rather than centuries.

Surly we are witnessing another thread being woven into that beautiful prophesy of our Lady at Fatima, "My Immaculate Heart will eventually triumph." Maybe we can begin to dare hope that the day will come when popes who have sold their souls to the Zeitgeist, like Pope Humble 1st, and scandalous prelates like Vincent Nichols, Cardinal Dolan et al will be just historical footnotes, mere painful memories of an older generation.

There could of course be other clouds on the horizon: Islam and militant secularism two obvious examples, but the Novus Ordo sect, in France at least, is now very clearly and firmly lodged on death row.

I prophesied fifty years ago that this day would come, but was denounced for not being "open to the Spirit". I inquired at the time whether they were talking about the Spirit that had been around for the last 2000 years or the one that had just turned up - no response forthcoming at the time, as far as I recall.

THE MEME

A meme is defined as a cultural assumption that is transmitted by repetition and that replicates in a manner analogous to the biological transmission of genes - or perhaps a better analogy would be that it replicates like a virus. The meme to be successful must sink into the sub-conscious of a people, and this is mainly achieved by aggressive repetition. The poet John Oxenham wrote, "The high soul climbs the high way, the low soul groups the low, and in between on the misty flats the rest drift to and fro." The thought processes of the masses groping about on the misty flats today are almost entirely governed by memes.

An example of one very enduring meme is that Christ and His apostles were poor. Where did that meme come from? - out of the left of course. Christ and His step father were skilled tradesman, why would they be poor? As for the Apostles, St Peter had his own family fishing business that was so successful it could afford hired labour - so why do we assume he was poor? As for St Joseph, do we really believe that God would choose a man to take care of the Christ Child and His Holy Mother who was incompetent at doing so? Money is the receipt that society gives to its members for contributing, if the Holy Family were poor it is because they were not contributing - is it possible for a Catholic to really believe that? When Mary Magdalene poured expensive oil over Christ, Judas protested and suggested that it ought to have been sold and the money given to the poor. Christ responded, "You have the poor among you always, so you can do good to them when you will; I am not always among you." Would that response have made sense if Christ perceived Himself as poor? At His Crucifixion the Roman Soldiery considered His cloak to be of such good quality that it would be a crime to damage it, so they cast lots for it - would that make sense if Christ was wearing the rags of the poor?

Some memes are mercifully short lived or geographically restricted. The meme that Jews were some sort of inferior race that was a threat to civilisation was a meme very successfully propagated by the German Nazis, but it mercifully ran out of most of its steam with the military defeat of its propagators.

The meme that the French Revolution was the result of a brave and noble peasantry rising up against a cruel aristocracy has been far more enduring. The truth, as opposed to the meme, is that the French Revolution was the process by which those who enjoyed economic power extended their grip on political power, and the poor were the biggest losers. A similar meme that is still with us is the one that tells us that General Franco was some sort of evil right-wing dictator. The truth is that General Franco was only persuaded to draw his sword reluctantly in defence of the innocent after the Spanish Communists (financed and radicalised by Moscow) had slaughtered over nine thousand innocent unarmed priests (plus bishops, nuns, laymen and even junior seminarians) and burned innumerable Catholic institutions to the ground. Had it not been the hard left that Franco defeated, he would have been universally regarded as a hero of the common man. He also had the misfortune of opposing Moscow (and defeating its machinations vis-a-vis Spain) at a time when Stalin and Churchill were allies.

There are a couple of enduring memes around the American slave trade. One meme heavily implicates the Catholic kings and queens of Europe, especially the Spanish and Portuguese thrones in the slave trade, completely ignoring the historical fact that most of the movers and shakers in the new world slave trade were Masons, the arch-enemies of Catholicism, and for that matter the arch-enemies of monarchy - they cut off the head of the French King remember. Another meme around the same issue is that this was one of the worst examples of slavery in the history of the human race, blithely ignoring the facts that the Arabs of North Africa have practised slavery on a vast scale for over fourteen centuries, and still practice it to this day.

Another enduring meme is the one that tells us that the Northern Ireland troubles are the result of Catholic and Protestants hating one another. Ignoring completely the fact that the dispute has little or nothing to do with religion and that one of the early leaders of the IRA was a Protestant and the current leaders are Communists. As I say, because the meme resides in the subconscious, facts have little power to weaken or dent it; the meme moves, exists and has its being in some spire outside and beyond the real world.

A more recent meme is the one that tells us that unborn children are, well, not unborn children. That is one meme that is showing signs of beginning to run out of steam, but it still has legs and unfortunately some considerable way to go.

Another recent meme that has been surprisingly successful is the global warming meme, which has more recently morphed into the climate change meme. Memes just like viruses will sometimes mutate to protect themselves. Because the meme largely exists in the subconscious, those infected often reveal the meme by self-contradiction, which can be amusing for those not infected by it. Recently for example ITV wheeled out their science correspondent to inform us that there was a consensus in the scientific community that the recent flooding in the West Country and elsewhere was caused by global warming. They then switched to their field correspondent wading down a flooded river, who one can only assume had not read the script, because he eagerly pointed out a marker on the river bank that was at least two meters above the level of the current swollen river, and informed us that this was where the river came to in the 1960 floods. If this was not funny enough, he then pointed out a further marker a couple of meters higher even than the first one, and informed us that this was where the river rose to in the 1929 floods. Most viewers would I suspect not have noticed how hilarious all this was, because, as I say, a successful meme resides in the subconscious and is therefore safely beyond the reach of rational thought. Readers should note that when the media say things like this is the worst flood since 1960, they are actually saying this flood is not as bad as the 1960 flood. We have since learned that some of the experts behind this meme had a few weeks earlier sent a memo to local authorities in the area warning them to prepare for an exceptionally dry winter! Note: the dates given above are arbitrary - I don't remember the exact dates referred to.

The most recent meme successfully propagated by the left, and most memes come out of the left, is the one that homosexuality is innate, like being left handed or blue eyed. This meme is now firmly lodged in the sub-conscious of possibly a majority of the folk that make up the North Atlantic civilisations, notwithstanding the fact that there is not a single shred of scientific evidence to support it, indeed the promoters of this meme don't even pretend to advance scientific arguments (unless you believe asserting that it is genetic without advancing a scrap of evidence to back your assertion, qualifies as science). This is one meme has been implanted solely by aggressive repetition.

A better and more accurate analogy for homosexuality would almost certainly be smoking. I hasten to add that I am not suggesting that sodomy and smoking are morally equivalent, merely that the two addictions are strikingly similar in their origins and progress. Smoking could be described as a disgusting unhealthy addiction usually acquired in one's early teens, which like all addictions is extremely difficult to break. Some, like the members of ASH and the sodomite collective, militantly embrace their addictions, and champion it as some sort of noble right. Others seek to break their addiction; some of whom will succeed but many sadly will fail. And many of those who do succeed, unhappily, subsequently relapse. Another fact that fits the smoking analogy perfectly is that one is usually first introduced to it by an older boy.

As I say, most memes exist within the secular asylum and come out of the left. The Church before Vatican ll was a meme free zone. Since Vatican ll and its rapprochement with the world, the meme has sadly seeped into the Catholic blood stream. For example, the notion that a large body of Catholics, the SSPX, who embrace every last iota of the Catholic faith without mental quibble, who acknowledge the Pope as head of the Church and pray for him daily, and whose bishops are not excommunicated now (if they ever were) are nevertheless, on the basis of legal quibbles, outside the Church. Whereas those innumerable modernist bishops and clerics who ignore Rome, Catholic tradition and the dogmas of the faith (and their contracepting flocks) are nevertheless, by some bizarre double standard, in full communion - in full communion with what precisely one might reasonably ask.

Another meme is the notion that the Novus Ordo, a post-Conciliar rite of Mass fabricated by a committee under the direction of a Freemason, with input from six heresiarchs, is "ordinary", whereas a rite of Mass that has been celebrated in its essentials for 2000 years, indeed in many features even extending back into the Jewish church, and which has been celebrated by all our saints and martyrs, is "extraordinary". Those well-meaning traditionalists who repeat these silly labels are actually helping reinforce the meme and giving it substance.

How do we tell a meme from a fact? Well one clue is that the meme is usually maintained by intolerance, aggression and anger. If one is promoting truth, anger has no place or indeed reason to exist. A simple illustration: if I'm teaching a child that two plus two equals four, I might take four oranges and separate them into two sets of two, put them together again and invite the child to count them. However, if I want to teach the child that two plus two equals five there is no way I can calmly demonstrate it; I am forced to resort to aggressive repetition. And if the child resists my attempt at brain washing, I will naturally very quickly become frustrated and angry.

If you want to see a meme in action, join a prayer vigil outside an abortion clinic; you will be very lucky to get through an hour without witnessing at least one instance of irrational, and seemingly bizarre, anger feeding of a meme. Those seething with meme inspired rage will make completely irrational statements: in 2013 for example, while quietly praying my Rosary outside an abortion facility with my wife, I was accused of single handily blocking a five meter wide pavement, asked whether I was aware that there was a war in Syria and accused of being a f*****g bigot for embracing a weeping young woman - in addition, a significant number of completely incoherent comments were shouted in my general direction. Another clue that you are dealing with someone infected by a meme is that those infected seldom hang around. Their normal modus operandi is to shout some irrelevant comment in your direction and then immediate step on the gas to put distance between themselves and you. It is as if they are terrified that you may actually be inconsiderate enough to seek to engage them in rational debate.

Archbishop Lefebvre -v- the papacy, St Pius X -v- Benedict XVI - Vat 2 has splintered the Catholic Church into factions; and, as in any conflict, truth is the first casualty. On cue, the history of the Artians and St Athanasius is currently being urgently re-written by neo-Catholics to fit their regime of novelties

Neo-Catholics are often obsessed with the SSPX (If you need a definition of “neo-Catholic” you can do no better than follow this LINK).  A certain Mr Robert William’s personal obsession with the SSPX has assumed the nature of the sort of vendetta against them that was condemned so forcefully by Benedict XVI in his letter of the 7 July 2007 (which accompanied his Motu Proprio, Summorum Pontificum), but nevertheless the Catholic Herald regularly publish his letters on the subject.

Mr Williams never misses an opportunity to work the word “excommunicated” into any sentence containing Archbishop Lefebvre’s name.  However, when Benedict XVI lifted the censure of the four SSPX bishops on 21st Jan. 2009, his document giving it juridical force, finished by pronouncing the censure of excommunication promulgated on 1st July, 1988 to be “void of juridical effects …”   Perhaps one of our many amateur canon lawyers can explain how one can be excommunicated by a decree that has been declared “void of juridical effects” by the highest authority in the Church?

Neo-Catholics naturally object to the similarity between Archbishop Lefebvre and St Athanasius being pointed out.  To counter this rather obvious comparison, Mr Williams asserts that the Church and the papacy “remained resolute” throughout the Arian crisis.  He further claims that this novel view is proved by some unnamed “19th century disputants.”

St Jerome writing at the time of the Arian crisis (admittedly without the benefit of unnamed "19th century disputants" to draw upon) famously lamented, "The whole world groaned and marvelled to find itself Arian".   One of the popes at the time, Liberius, whose instincts were undoubtedly orthodox, was plucky at first, but torn from his see and banished to Thrace, signed a Semi-Arian creed and, under pressure from the Arians, renounced the champion of the orthodox party, St Athanasius.  If that is an example of “remaining resolute”, it is somewhat difficult to imagine what Mr Williams would regard as “irresolute.”

Can anyone explain why St Paul is a saint when, in his own words, “… when Cephas [i.e. the Pope] was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed,” (Galatians 2:11), whilst Archbishop Lefebvre is a villain for doing the same (and with much greater cause) vis-à-vis Cephas’s successor?  I have no doubt that Robert William with his forte for legalistic hair-splitting will be able to explain away these episcopal double standards - leastways to his own satisfaction and that of his fellow neo-Catholics.

Answers on a postcard please.

Following the overdue lifting of the contested excommunications of the SSPX bishops, there is now much blather in neo-Catholic land to the effect that the SSPX bishops will have to formally accept Vatican II before they can be fully reinserted into mainstream Catholicism.

Can someone tell me what specific article of faith is rejected by the SSPX that was unambiguous defined and formally imposed on the faithful by Vatican II, that was not part of the Catholic faith prior to Vatican II?

Answers on a postcard please.

GOD BLESS OUR POPE: The contested excommunications are finally lifted

with acknowledgment to Gerald Warner

Benedict XVI grows in stature by the minute. To the achievement of the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum, he has now added the sensible and overdue lifting of the always contested excommunications imposed on the four bishops of the SSPX. Although there was always widespread skepticism about the validity of those censures, their lifting removes a major roadblock to the restoration of the Church.

In the children’s animated cartoon, the Ice Age, a wooly mammoth, one of the principle characters, believes that he is the last of his species. However, half way through the story he is dlighted to find a female wooly mammoth to which he immediately takes a shine. Unfortunately, the female wooly mammoth his suffering from the delusion that she is a sloth and spends her time hanging upside down from trees, with disastrous consequences! Happily, with the aid of friends, she is persuaded over time that she is a mammoth. The final eureka moment comes when she realizes that her shadow is similar to that of the male wooly mammoth and they both live happy ever after.

What I found fascinating was watching the reaction of my grandchildren. They were fidgeting with frustration with this animal’s delusion. When the mist cleared and she accepted her “God given” nature, the collective relief was palpable.

The Church is the Ark of Salvation, the Body of Christ, the one true faith, the one true Church, founded by the God who threw the stars into their orbits and knit you and me together in our mother’s wombs; indeed, she is the very reason for the existence of the universe.

Yet for the past forty years, the Bride of Christ has been behaving as if there was no such thing as truth and error, right and falsehood, she was merely another religious tradition or one church among many. This widespread delusion and apparent insanity of our mother caused many orthodox Catholics to squirm with frustration. The lifting of the excommunications suggest that our mother is recovering from these delusions and her eureka moment may not now be far away. Then we shall all be able to breathe an enormous sigh of collective relief.

Not everyone will be dancing in the street of course: the Staff of the Tablet will probably need counseling - poor dears. Anything that moves the malign spirit of those who, without any conscious irony denominate themselves "liberals" to misery has to be great news.

Recently, a handful of Catholics, more noted for their mad optimism than solid faith, have been striving to persuade us to throw a party to "celebrate" the 50th anniversary of the calling of the Second Vatican Council. What sort of Catholic, one wonders, wants to celebrate the fact that in England and Wales in 1964, at the end of the Council, there were 137,673 Catholic baptisms; in 2003 the figure was 56,180. In 1964 there were 45,592 Catholic marriages, in 2003 there were 11,013. Mass attendance has fallen by 40 per cent. In "Holy" Ireland, only 48 per cent of so-called Catholics go to Mass. In France, there were 35,000 priests in 1980; today there are fewer than 19,000.

In the United States, in 1965, there were 1,575 priestly ordinations; in 2002 there were 450 - a 350 per cent decline. In 1965 there were 49,000 seminarians, in 2002 just 4,700. Today 15 per cent of US parishes are without priests. Only 25 per cent of America's nominal Catholics attend Mass. Worse still is the erosion of faith among those who ludicrously describe themselves as Catholics. Among US Catholics aged 18-44 (the children of Vatican II) as many as 70 per cent say they believe the Eucharist is merely a "symbolic reminder" of Christ.

To call this unparalleled implosion of the Church a "renewal" is a sign that one is as close to being a raving lunatic as one can get short of eating one’s own shirt - and to attribute it to the Holy Ghost is blasphemous.

The Catholic Church is in the same position as an alcoholic: until she admits that she has a problem, no cure is possible. The lifting of the contested excommunications is a sign that the Church is returning to mental health. Hopefully once the SSPX is back fully in the fold, they will be able to help prod our mother towards that final eureka moment when she once again fully and openly acknowledges and confesses her own God given nature.

Further down the road, another exciting prospect is that, once the final agreement is worked out, it opens the door to the canonization of Archbishop Lefebvre; that sadly I will not live to see.

In the meantime we can all look forward to sitting back and enjoying some innocent fun reading all the revisionist history being written by those who have been calumniating the SSPX for 20 years. Funniest of all will be the mental gymnastics of the post-Conciliar popeologist. These are the folk who if the Pope was to declare the sky green, would be peddling round excitedly telling everyone what a delightful shade of green the sky actually is.

Bishop Williamson's Outburst

I was seven years old when WWII ended and the images that emerged from Nazi Germany shortly after the war of the Concentration Camps and their victims have seared themselves on my memory. Anyone who seek to minimise or make light of the suffering of The Jewish people, and indeed many others, at the hand of the Nazis (pagans and self-proclaimed heirs of the Enlightenment) during this dark period in the history of modernity, displays prima facie signs of criminal insanity.

That said, I do not support the sort of holocaust denial legislation in place in Germany. The problem is that what is being criminalized is precariously close to a thought crime. Once we hand these sorts of sanctions to liberal governments, it is only a matter of time before they are using them to persecute those who expose truths they find uncomfortable. One can find oneself in trouble in Turkey for example for drawing attention to Turkey’s role in the massacre of millions of Catholic Armenians. In Canada, a Christian minister can find himself in serious trouble for merely pointing out that sodomy is one of the sins crying to Heaven for vengeance.

Neither does it follow that I cannot acknowledge that the godless secular left’s preoccupation with the Holocaust is for the most part mendacious. It is driven by their desire to divert our attention away from the fact that their hands are dripping with innocent blood: the millions who died in the cruel purges of Stalin (a man idolized in his time by the British left) and his henchmen (all militant atheists) are but one of numerous examples.

The willingness of the secular left to sanction massacres, on a scale unknown before the age of Enlightenment, to advance their agenda is also born testament to by the current abortion holocaust. Indeed, if you want to drive a secular liberal apoplectic with rage, point out to him the similarities between the Nazi’s attitude to the Jews and the pro-aborts’ attitude to the unborn. Both have arbitrarily decided to define a sub-set of humanity as sub-human. Both have then equally arbitrarily decided that they may murder this sub-set if it serves their “laudable” purposes.

Neither should we ever forget that one of the first acts of the Christophobic Masons behind the French Revolution, the midwives in at the birth of modernity, was to organize a genocidal massacre of all Catholics in north west France. By the time this came to an end some 300,000 Catholics had been butchered by musket, rapier or drowning. So meticulous did the Infernal Columns carry out their “duties” that not even our pets and livestock were spared: whole villages were left full of our corpses: men, women, children and beast lay rotting side by side. The secular left, true to its mendacious form, has managed to entirely expunge that inconvenient little truth from the history books and the collective memory.

The recent decision of Edinburgh Social Services to remove two children from the care of their grandparent and place them with a brace of sodomites united in a sham marriage by nothing more holy than a mutual commitment to a disordered sexuality is merely one more illustration of the continual willingness of secular left ideologues to sacrifice the innocent on the altars of their distorted agendas.

No Catholic should ever watch television with his brains in his lap like a secularist. The mainstream media is controlled by the Christophobic left and even when they tell the truth they are lying. Just consider the recent saturation coverage of the murder of some two-hundred innocent Indians by Islamists in Mumbai. What was wrong with that you may ask? Nothing, except that an even larger number of Christians have suffered a similar fate at the hands of Hindu-fascists in the same country and of that the main stream media has reported absolutely nothing! To report such matters for the godless secularists who massage our news would clearly be the equivalent of reporting that so many flies had been swatted.

Nevertheless, the evidence for the cruel fate of the Jews under the Nazis, like the evidence for the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Our Blessed Lord, rest on the solid testimony of contemporary witnesses who were close to and even personally involved in these events. Further, just as the Apostles and others maintained their testimony in the face of persecution and cruel death, so some of the leading Nazis maintained their testimony while facing the hangman’s noose. Consequently, any traditionalist who seeks to seriously question the Holocaust, either with regard to the number of its victims or its methodology, is in danger of sawing off one of the main branch on which his own faith rests.

Against this background, when I read Bishop Williamson’s outburst on Swedish television, my jaw dropped. The Bishop confirmed his earlier infamous remark in Canada that “there was not one Jew killed by the gas chambers; it was all lies, lies, lies.” The Bishop further declares on camera that “I believe there were no gas chambers” and that “the historical evidence… is hugely against six million Jews having been gassed in gas chambers as a deliberate policy of Adolf Hitler… I think that 200,000 to 300,000 Jews died in Nazi concentration camps, but none of them in gas chambers.”

“Jaw dropping” aside, I was not entirely surprised for I had a year or two earlier out of curiosity attended one of the Bishop’s lectures. My gut reaction, which has more often than not served me well, was that he was a vain man who clearly revelled in the notoriety (and the following) that his crackpot opinions gained for him. He had clearly never met a conspiracy theory that he didn’t absolutely adore. Further, this array of way-out opinions were seemingly held with the sort of moral certainty that Catholics normally reserves for dogmas of the faith - yet the evidence marshaled to support them seldom rose above knowing winks, nods and nose tapping in the general direction of some sort of Gnostic knowledge of his inner circle.

I recently wrote that the next decade or two is shaping up from the Devil’s perspective to be one of the most decisive battles of history. It is a matter of enormous regret that the Devil has been handed an easy victory on a plate, in one of the first skirmishes in this gathering cosmic war, by a level of stupidity seldom found in nature in one of our own “generals”. Indeed, were Bishop Williamson a military man, he would now be facing a court marshal for negligently aiding the enemy.

Hopefully, once the SSPX position is regularized, entirely admirable men like Bishop Fellay who has already moved swiftly to distance the Society from Williamson, will be in a position to deal with such matters both effectively and decisively. In the meantime, if Bishop Williamson had the love for the Church and tradition that he claims, he would fall on his sword - and today rather than tomorrow.
